Scientricity: Energizing Science Clubbers for Sustainable Energy

Filipino month had passed and it’s time to turn a new page of the school calendar. We’re in the so-called “BER months” so… ADVANCE MERRY CHRISTMAS! But hey! Its September and we will move on to the celebration of Science Month.
The first time I read the theme of this celebration, I wonder how it comes to be like this. Honestly, I can’t capture a vivid picturesque about this statement. Even just a glimpse of idea, nothing was inserted to my poor memory. It’s so complicated. I don’t get the point immediately. Until one afternoon, a classmate told me the realm of the theme and this is how I understand it…
SCIENTRICITY - a fused version of Science and Electricity. Beside from financial and other economic issues that we’re suffering, time will come that energy, which we use in our daily lives will be scarce sooner. As they say, nothing is permanent in this world. Now, each of us consumes a lot more energy per day. In everything we do, we take energy to be able to move. We keep on abusing without considering the sake of others. If we keep on consuming, maybe just a few years from now, expect that nothing will be left for the next generation. So, this is the message which the theme depicts, CONSERVE ENERGY. And each of us can have a share. That’s why we must activate our resourcefulness especially in the field of Science. Let’s get ourselves be involved in a change for the betterment of the future.
It’s quite odd isn’t it? It seems the terms used are unbelievable yet you don’t only know it conveys something addressed to the whole world. There’s a deep meaning behind every single word that composes it.
Whatever it is, how it is stated, it doesn’t matter. The only important thing is that we can internalize and we can visualize what message the theme imposes. CONSERVE ENERGY FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION. Hand in hand, we can bring a change. The theme urges us for an action. An action to make a change. Dare to act. NOW!

All-in-One: A teacher, A hero...EVERYTHING!

TEACHERS. Who would have known that they would be one of our greatest heroes in this generation? The teachers who inspired and take a vital part in changing the lives of students like me.
Speaking of the teachers day, SHE automatically pop up out of my mind. I really don't know but this teacher mesmerized my soul a year ago. She was my mentor when I am in my Junior year.
For what I am now and what will I be in the future, a huge part was because of her. I was so impressed by her words of wisdom. I can't take the day without a piece of quote from her. Yeah, its really weird but to tell you the truth, I jot down notes when she's talking. My classmates and my friends would only laugh at me. But that's okay. At least, I am learning. Even though how long it would be, I listen with an open heart and patience.
She inculcated discipline strictly which I admired the most. We should learn to make the room clean, to be in school early, to pass all our requirements punctually and of course to be honest. Whenever there's a problem, serious or not, she's ready to act on it. You can run to her every time. She render service at her best.
She's very supportive too! During our practice on the different contested activities, she's always in our side. She suggested everything she knows to make the play the best. She doesn't want to see us the loser. She's so generous that she'd willing to contribute some amount of money for our props and other materials. She's always present watching our whole performance. Sitting in the first row, you could see the sparkling of her eyes, cheering and waving us "GOODLUCK!"
Ma'am, I'm so thankful you'd been my teacher. If ever I could fly back in time, I would like to be your student again. For the advises, for comforting me, for the efforts, for being there always, for everything you've done, THANK YOU SO MUCH.  Those things you've imparted will be my weapons when I'll go up to a more crucial level of life. I DO REALLY SALUTE YOU! :)

"Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagkapilipino"

No definite language. No cooperation. No strong foundation. Imagine what kind of country will be inherited by the next generation? Just a weak, dependent, ready to trash and nothing to be proud of. Can we attain the progress we aim for? Will Philippines be worth living?

For the past 333 years of being colonized by the Spaniards, we, the clueless Filipinos are just functioning as slaves, treated like animals, and plainly underestimated. So long we are leaving just to serve and satisfy these stone-hearted conquerors. We tend to fight and claim our rights, but how? Few Flipinos versus thousands of Spaniards, can we defeat them? Until there came these brave heroes and heroines; those with true hearts and was fused with the use of ONE LANGUAGE. They brought up our freedom.

Since then, as one of our identity, WIKANG FILIPINO was established. An instrument descended for us to continue building a peaceful and productive country. It was hard I guess. Freedom is not something easy to get. It is to be fought of. As well as Wikang Filipino, it is not simply gained just like freedom.

Because of Wikang Filipino, we were known as real Filipinos. We could converse, we are able to understand each other, we are free to tell others what we want to. If we could get the message clearly, then we can all be friends. If we are all friends, there'll be no war, no hindrance for success. A great country will soon flourish with that simple language.

Let's start in ourselves. Let's have one voice that would unite all of us like in the past. And our union will be the strongest foundation of all. A foundation of a better country, best-ever Pearl Of the Orient, Philippines.

She's the One

Fifteen years of breathing and experiencing happiness. Fifteen years of tasting the sweetness and bitterness of life. Fifteen years of exploring great new ideas. Fifteen years of savoring this Earth's delight. FIFTEEN YEARS... for some, maybe it would not be that long enough to spend it up but for me, it's a matter of time I would cherish in my period of existence. For sure, I'm not here if SHE didn't let me too. She is the reason why until now, I am able to enjoy the beauty of life. SHE'S MY HERO... A hero I'll always be proud of.

Way back 2001 where I had to enter the world of education. She's there, always ready to guide me. Every morning, she'd accompany me to school. She'd hold my hand, swaying to and fro, together we walked. Throughout the day, she stays in my classroom, bringing up my meryenda, checking my funny and weird artworks, and she'd cheer me up too! She'd comfort me when I'm down. She's willing to render her time to help me with my homeworks and to teach me how to read.

Whenever I celebrate my birthdays, she'd always do her best to satisfy me. Even though sometimes she had no budget, or there were more important things to be paid off, she'd still manage to give me a simple yet unforgetable birthday bash every child would wish. She'd always try to find ways to every problem in the house.

We encounter misunderstandings too. Not only ones but many times. Yet, she still forgives me with all the faults I made. She would either buy me sweets or girly stuffs if she's sorry for what she'd done bad. She can't take a quarrel with me for a long span of time.

She understands why I'm so busy especially that I'm now in high school. If I need to go to school for Saturday or Sundays, she'd let me. She rises up in the morning just to cook breakfast and to prepare everything for us. She even does household chores even though we have a baby brother she's going to take care of. She always produce everything we need. She treats us equally and it breaks her heart to see us in bad condition.

Until now, she didn't change. She never  fails to make me smile. She always make my heart melt. Her deeds, her efforts, her sacrifices, the way she nurtured us, the moments we've shared together, I will keep them as my treasures. When I'm with her, the world comes alive and everything's right.

Maybe I'm not the best you've dreamed to be. I know I'd been reckless of everything. But behind all what you see in me, here'a heart letting you to know... I LOVE YOU MOTHER! And even though I always make you mad, you're still th one I owe for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for everything. You're my hero! :)

P.S. Happy Birthday to my mom on October 5 :)
